I bought my first 360 on January 1st (Premium, if it matters), and right about April or May it stopped reading all 360 games. It only gave me an error screen saying "To play this disc, put it in an Xbox360 console".
Obviously it's in a 360.
It reads Xbox games just fine - Halo, Halo 2, any other game I have that is B.C., but every 360 game generates the same screen saying to put it in a 360 console.
DVD drive is the Samsung model.
I've contacted MS and have a case file number (or whatever - incident number?) but have never gotten around to sending it back. I bought another 360 about 3 days after this problem came up, and have not had any trouble at all.
Anyway, since this doesn't generate an error code, is there any known fix for it other than giving MS yet more money? I paid $400+ for roughly 5 months of use - I'd rather not spend an extra $150 (shipping too!) if all I have to do is swap a drive or touch up a buggy solder job.
