Sounds like a problem with your BIOS... What BIOS is on your XBox and what modchip do you have? (or is your Xbox softmodded or TSOP flashed?)  <

You could just set it to use xboxdash.xbe or dvdx2 instead. I doubt its got anything todo with the bios.  <

If when he hits eject his xbox reboots, it could mean his BIOS does not support the eject fix that has been around for awhile...  So that is why his BIOS information may be pertinent to his problem...   <

I second Yuyu. It sound like you have a bios without eject fix.  <

Set XBMC to use dvd-x as the external dvd player, just as suggested above.  <

Not sure what bios but I do know that it supports eject without reset. Its rebooting because XBMC is crashing. Reason I wanted to use it to play dvd's is that it supposedly can scale them to 1080i for my hi def tv. That would be def (ha ha).

Thanks for the quick replies and suggestions.

So what exactly is happening, step-by-step... You turn on your Xbox, select XBMC from your menu in whatever dash you are using, and when XBMC starts up you press eject and it locks up ? You need to be a bit more detailed about what is happening here, so we can help you further...  <

Does XBMC even suport DVD!?

I thought you had to use xboxdash or DVDx2 to play DVD's as DVD Menu support has yet to be added!  <

XBoxes with samsung drives & retail dvd´s = No go (css keys dont get handled right somehow and this is being worked on)

XBoxes with thomson/philips drives and retail dvd´s = Works, but no menus.

Strange I tought the Samsung Drive was otherwise the most desireable DVD Drive (of the Three), for the XBOX

I guess there's a snag in everything beit CD-R (with Thompson, Phillips) or DVD Playback with XBMC with Samsong...

Yes, and it still is. (becouse it reads cd-r disc almost without any problems)

The css reading will most likly be fixed, but for now use another player then xbmc for reatil dvds.
