Rule of thumb for me when modding xbox is to never use power from DVD drive. I would say remove 12v fan mod and see how system reacts, still not loading game.

Ok that was my only 4 pin fan unit. Let me get another one and then I'll check back.

Yeah, if you feel you absolutely need to 12v the fans take it from the raw 12v near the power supply connector. You'll get all the juice you need from there.
