Leds In Wireless Controller With Transistor As Switch

I modded my wireless controller awhile ago and used a post by RDC as help(I know he replied but I dont think he started it).  It had pics of where to get power and how to put a transistor in a 2v switched spot so it could turn LEDs on and off with the controller.  If anyone could help me that would be awesome, and the best thing would be the link if possible.
