5052 Wip
« on: August 03, 2006, 12:24:00 PM »

So yea, it's been a while since my last project. I decided to make the dreaded wip for this project. I have a background with aircraft maintnance, so I decided to use it on this 360. Anyway, read on and be amazed. Product's used include: 5052 Aluminum sheet(.063"), 5052 Aluminum Angle iron, AN470AD4-6 Rivets among other things. This 360 will use a custom internal psu, vga port, and what ever else I think of.

Either way, with the pictures provided so far, it looks like it could be quite the interesting mod.  I'm intrigued to find out more! biggrin.gif

Why do people use photobucket? Its absolute crap.
I found photojerk.com the best for image hosts as they have a up to 50MB file host, but it requires free signup. If you dont want to sign up just use photoamp.com but its got file type restrictions.

I also wish people didn't use photobucket. But only since I can't see them at work (the domain's blocked sad.gif).
I much prefer ftp domains but those aren't as easy for people to get it seems.

Here is the angle iron cut at 45 degree angles. It's also pre drilled for the rivets. 228 holes need to be drilled for the whole project(and those are only the obvious ones). Not to mention, all holes need to be drilled again into the sheetmetal. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/blink.gif) So thats 456 at a bare minimum.

Whipped out the old drafting table to make sure it's squared.

(IMG:http://i24.photobucket.com/albums/c12/sum0n3/360/5052/HPIM0009.jpg)
Used this dinosaur for drilling(can u say WWII, excuse the phone camera)

More to come tonight..Maybe even some electrical.
