A really dump question, but is the xbox 360 shell made of plastic or metal?

Id recon its metal but i cant recall reading it anywhere so i cant be 100% positive...

This is from may 12th 2005 knew i read somewhere it mentioned case been metal or part metal anyways

I estiamte that the ouside will me mostly plastic (acylic) and there may be some sheilding on the inside (similar to the xbox1). and like others have said the chrome is fake, although i think its more of a glued/heated/bonded on chrome foil (similar to that on some cheaper car door handles, like my toyota matrix

) not a "paint".

Im feeling a bit sad at the moment. Plastik just feels cheap...i would much much rather it being aluminium.

yeah but when m$ thinks about how much more expensive aluminum would be than plastic it scares them off, although if someone was cranking out milled aluminum case foir the 360 i would buy it in a heart beat...

I'd say plastic, with a little metal. Full metal 360s would cost MS quite a lot to produce.

for some reason i feel like the sides will be metal.. maybe its just the computer image stuck in my head but can anyone confirm that the sides are plastic?

I wish it was metal. For $400 it should be metal. This is disappointing.
