I've set up some SMB shares on my PC. My main music folder has a lot of folders and also files in the root directory.
When I access this folder from XMBC, it takes 30 seconds to see the files.  On other folders with less stuff, it takes less time.

Is there any way of speeding this up?   I am newto XBMC and so far I'm really impressed with it. This is the only thing annoying me.

Thanks dude, I'll do that.

Is there any way to keep ID3 tags on, but keep a sort of local cache on the xbox to speed things up? Are there faster methods of sharing than SMB?

When you are in the folder with the mp3 files in, press the Scan button in XBMC. Et voila!  <
