360 Backups Refuse To Burn *help!* :(
« on: September 30, 2007, 07:31:00 PM »

Hey guys- long time reader, first time poster.

Thanks for everything you guys have done here- it's really great!

My 360 has been eating a lot of disks lately- and I'm getting tired of buffing them all the time. So I'm trying to get these backups working...

Anywho- What I've done so far:

- Flashed my 360's drive (Xtreme Firmware)
- Bought a Samsung SH-D162C (Flashed w/ Kreon v.81 firmware)
- Bought a Pioneer 112D (Not flashed, as far as I know)
- Bought a bunch of Verbatim DVD+R DL disks

Then-

- Created a backup (.dvd file) of one of my games using Xbox Backup Creator, that being;
   - Loaded program
   - Put disk in Samsung drive
   - Selected "Complete Backup"
   - ...and let it go to town.

Then-

- Tried to burn the .dvd file with Xbox Backup Creator AND CloneCD

...that's where the problem lies. Both times the burn looks like it's about to work... and when it gets to about 25% (ish) both programs say something along the lines of "Burning Process Failed". It doesn't give me anymore info... its so vague I don't know how to fix it.

Has anyone else ran into problems like these?
...does anyone know what my problem is?

Please help!!  (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)  I'm getting tired of wrecking all these expensive disks...

What speed are you trying to burn them at?

Also, are you doing anything CPU or disk intensive at the time?

I'm burning them at 2.4x which is what the DVDs are rated at... and I make a point not to touch my compute while it's burning- and make sure there are no other apps running in the background...
