Skip the VCR (who still owns a VCR anyway?) - I believe the problem is VHS' Macrovision copyright protection at work, though I could be wrong. Try the 360-VCR combo (the SAME VCR) on a different TV and see if you get the same results.

well i only need to do it when im visiting my friend whos TV doesnt have composite. his cousens 360 works on it set up the exact same way with same cables, same TV, and same VCR/DVD player but his works in color. i know its my 360 but i just want to know if anyone knows why. it also has a problem of corrupting any profile that is signed in on it (it will only work on my xbox once its signed in on my xbox. every other 360 says it is corrupt). my 360 is so fucked up lol
