Homemade Vga Cable Problems

Could very well be interference from an outside source.  If you can, try twisting the positive and negative cables of the same color together (green +, green -), and putting a ferrite choke (HERE) on the cable near the monitor side of the cable.

Why did you not use shielded cables ?  The video signals and H & V sync will bleed into each other and just create a smudged picture at best or a messed up picture (such as yours sad.gif )... twisted wires will create 'some' shielding, but in all honestly, if you're going to the bother of making your own cables - then use the best quality mini-coax shielded cables you can get otherise you'll just be disappointed with the result vs the effort you put in ... IMO

My use vga pin snapped off.  mad.gif  Theres still some metal, but it's under some type of reddish brown glue that won't come off. What should I do?

Add a switch if it's internal, or if it plugs into the 360's A/V port, put a wire between the proper pins.
