Xbox Sound Via Pc?
« on: January 05, 2007, 02:30:00 PM »

This is possible pressuming the cable from the xbox has the red and white phono leads. You then need a cable to convert the two phono leads to a headphone plug. This is plugged into the line in on your pc, and the speakers will be connected to the line out.

Once all is connected turn on your pc, goto the control panel, click on the sounds and audio devices icon, and in the pop up window click on the advanced button.

You should now have a row of volume controls in forn of you. Make sure that the line in is there and that its not muted. Now turn on your xbox and see if you can hear it. If you can't there could be a problem with your connectio, or you may need to mute the other inputs or adjust the audio level on both the input and output, and on the speakers themselves. I would recomend keeping the input level at 85% or below. This helps reduce the niose that can be created.

The only 2 problems i can see with this setup is the pc has to be on while the xbox is on, and if your connected to msn messenger for example. everytime somone logs on you will hear it as well as the xbox sound, could be annoying

Hope this helps
