So I completed the cure for vampirism quest, and the count's wife died.
I spoke to the argonian woman who said that she'd retrieve the count after he'd had time to grieve.
Months later, the argonian is still in the hidden room and the count won't say anything to me but "Please, go."

Major problem? Yes.
I need to speak to him about the main quest.
I destroyed the oblivion gate, his man keeps on going to get him to talk about 'aid for bruma'.
And you know what?

"Please, go."
