prey's first build was in 1997, on the quake1 engine. nearly 10.

That looks like a really good Achievement breakdown

Difficult enough to make the achievement's worth while but not stupid difficult like "become the best player in the world"

As for the game being in development for 10 years... they STARTED 11 years ago, worked on it for a while then the project was canceled... after a while they picked it back up and re-started from scratch.

It was started in '95 and then canceled in '99 due to major engine problems. Rumors started floating around '02 that the game had been picked back up and it wasn't made official until last year.

They trashed their original engine in place for a heavily modified version of the Doom 3 engine but the story and general game design remained the same as what they'd had back in '99

i have been waiting for the demo as well since it was supposed to be released around E3. there is a rumor that has surfaced though...

I read the news on various german gamesides, so a link wouldn´t be useful I suppose

To begin with, it sounds plausible: the Chromehounds demo was originally announced for E3 but didnt make it there over a month ago.

Any reason not to believe it? Well, plenty as a matter of fact. For starters, June 30th is a Friday and MS doesnt release content on Fridays to avoid having to endure troubles they cant fix during the weekend. Secondly, I wouldve preferred the links yeah thank you. My German sucks but Id be able to read it well enough to validate the source, now no source whatsoever is given in the whole topic. So all we know now is that some guy called Arest claims several German gaming sites think the Chromehounds demo will be up in 10 days.

I like the "We are Next" not as in we the people are the next to be conquered or whatever, but the makers of Prey know they have a great title on their hands.

well, i needed some files from my original Duke Nukem 3d Cd and wonder, there was a preview from Prey on it,
must have been summer 1996, very funny.

gamespot says prey dem coming tonight. there is a timer on the web site. i think its like 8 or 9pm pacific time, not sure, but it def. says tonight, probably pc only and 360 to follow, who knows

ive always wondered that as well, but prey takes it to a new level (or so the demos show) basically space and gravity are all variable things, which will throw you for a tailspin trying to remember where you are.

Im trying to not to be really hyped by this game but that is proving to be difficult at this point

i really like the part in the e3 video where the walkway is formed from chunks of rock floating about. gimicky, yes. but cool as hell to watch. i cant wait personally. hopefully its not only pc version tonite

prey website says 12:01 ET so yea its gonna tonight for us western residents
