The XBMC team has nothing todo with the compiled versions of xbmc up on some ftp sites.

We have no idea when a new compiled version will come as we do not make them or distribute them in anyway and do not have any contact, or even know, who makes the builds.

You are actually calling the XBMP/XBMC team liers?

We coulde easily setup a distrochannel on efnet for DAY TO DAY UPDATES if we wanted to, (using bots/bnc), but have we?

Why release with 1 months in between cvs updates?

You think we enjoy telling/explaining things to people in forums/channels about problems that where fixed 4 weeks ago?

Would a new release take away that problem?

Yes

Have we done that?

No.

I don't get it, do u [JayDee] make the actual XBMC program and distribute the source code regularly so that people can compile it? Otherwise, how do they compile the information?

I am apart of the XBMC-Team.
My role is mainly as a tester/techsupport so i do not code.

The XBMC-Team however distribute the whole source, as you might have seen if you took the time to check the other pinned topics here

The whole sourcetree is up @ http://sourceforge.net/projects/xbmc/

For info on how to download and how to compile check the other pinned topic for a step by step tutorial written by the main developer Frodo.

xbmc kinda sucks. spend 40 bucks for a used video card with S video, hook it up to your TV and you have more options. not sure why the xbmc team is so secretative about what they are doin, they should spend more time making a better qaulity product.
