That's how i feel.
Halo2 is a fun game that you pick up and are good at. Theres nothing memorable about it that makes you wanna go back.
I went over to my friends house around 2 months after Halo2 came out (I was still a Sony Zombie back then). I have never played Halo1 (I used to say Halo sucked, even though I never played it. Thats how Sony Zombies are), but I thought I'd give Halo2 a try while I was at his house. Boy, was I owning him! It was so easy to play... so easy it kind of got boring. Anyways, after that, I said "How about Halo1? I think I'm starting to understand what all the hype was about".
So he put in Halo1 and man, we were playing that for the rest of the night. It was an even matchup, even though this is the first time I've ever played any games in the Halo series (I'm just good at fps).
After that night, I couldn't touch my ps2. I was converted (halleluliah!) into a MS fan.
I couldn't buy an xbox though because I didn't have to cash for one, so I just played halo1 at his place, along with some halo2 matches here and there for shits and giggles.
If BOTH halos were online, both Halo1 and Halo2, I can easily say that I'd be on Halo1 online, along with many other people.
They should make a Halo: Combat Evolved 'Old School Hits' for the xbox360 with online play before Halo3 comes out.
I doubt it though.
