Dash 9199 Kernel Dump
« on: April 07, 2010, 01:24:00 PM »

I'm looking to update freeboot using methods that are on the scene.  This would allow me to create new Nand files for all of the version motherboards and get back on XBOX live.  I have a console that I can update and dump via Cygnos but I don't want to blow the efuses.  I also have extra cygnos chips but my sodering iron parts are not due in a for a few days. Otherwise I will use my USB flasher to dump a console tonight. If anyone has a clean dump of a 9199 update NAND and would like to share I would greatly appreciate it.  And I will share my end results with anyone who helps meaning you will be able to get back online too. Thanks.

Even if you were to get the 9199 files from someone else, you would also need a modified ibuild.exe to avoid the hash check because it currently still only supports 8955. I attempted this morning and it fails at dash.xex because the hashes dont match 8955. Goodluck.

I've disassembled ibuild and got it to accept the new file names, new SHA values of the new files and the new file sizes, built a new nand image but now i'm stuck on the freeboot.bin and freeboot-manual.bin as i'm assuming they have to change as well.

your fuses will need to be updated.... anytime an update blows an efuse (normally) the fuses.bin needs to reflect this.

There's a guy on another forum (will link to it if anyone's interested) who has already made his own "XBR4" that's working for Xenon and Zephyr boards. He's working on Jasper and Falcon now and is supposed to be releasing everything soon...

trendwhore, I think I'm stuck at about the same spot as you.  I did a sacraficial update on a JTAG box and got the 9199 dump I needed.  I've spent the whole weekend working on this but haven't made too much headway.  Any other ideas?

People who want a JTAG for live are cheaters and aren't wanted in this community anyway.

WOAH, buddy calm down. If you don't like it don't read it.

EDIT: This community is FULL of cheaters and nobody cares. I think the tech game can welcome you.

Cheating on your own? Fine. Going online, onto a paid subscription service, and tainting the experience for people who pay to be online, on a secure, safe from hackers service? You've got no right. No JTAG on live. I'm campaigning actively to have XBR4 have it's Live Connectivity removed. And as for "someone else will make their own"? lol. For sure. Just like all the other competition to XBR, amirite?
