you are going to have to find out where the option is. there is a setting somewhere in the dash that will allow you to automatically sign into your profile. i upgraded my drive prior to the nxe upgrade, and did experience the same thing as you, but was able to fix it before upgrading.

perhaps try googling for auto signin nxe or something like that

Reaper and Buzz, thank you both for your responses.  When I first had this issue the first thing I did was google the crap out of it and this was what I found:  There were tons of people that had this issue but they didn't have one important thing in common with me, they were running the old dashboard, not the NXE like I am, OR, they were running the new dashboard and everyone responding to they're question was telling them how to do it under the old dashboard.  I know that there was a place in the old dashboard that would let you turn on or off the autologin feature, but this doesn't appear to be in the new Dashboard, not in the same place anyway if it is there.  The one thing I did read that gave me some insight was a individual that stated that the new dashboard worked a little differently in the sense that it would always auto login the last account that logged into the Xbox360.  Mine doesn't do this either though and that's what made me think that something was up.
I seriously hope that I am just overlooking it, and that it's not some file or something I forgot to copy over from my old HDD that's not letting it work.  It's just so strange that EVERYTHING seems to work great but that..(?)
For what it's worth I consider myself tech savvy (I'm in IT) and I still don't see the option to turn on Auto Login, (under the guide, under the profile option) if anyone knows how to do it in the NXE (the new dashboard) then please could I have instructions (steps) so I can compare against what I am able to do on my HDD modded Xbox360...?  I would really appreciate it!  Thanks again Reaper and Buzz! God bless dudes!

Open your guide button and go to the right to profile. Select that and go down to auto sign-in. Enable it and the next time you turn on your 360, it will sign you in automatically.

that should do the trick. the old guide button menu didn't have the ability to go left and right, so he must be talking about nxe. i'd say check there.

what is obvious to one person isn't going to be to another. ms really should put options like this in multiple places so that it can be found easier :/

I took another look at this again last night and low and behold, It was as I hoped; I was just being a dumb ass. It was right where you said it was, and after looking at the two options (auto sign-in to Xbox Live and Messenger) and setting the Xbox Live to enable, I remotely shut the box down and after powering it right back up it logged me in right away like it always did before the little mod I did.  Now I'm back up to full speed thanks to the both of your patients. IT savvy or not, I still make bone headed mistakes sometimes  (IMG:style_emoticons/default/happy.gif)

If anyone else is having this problem don't be afraid to just look again like I did because it is there, it's just a little buried.  Now I've got 120 GB's of faster load times to fill up! L4D, FarCry2, Fallout 3, and Gears 2, Here I come full force!
Thanks again X-bros!

What am I doing wrong?

I ran msinfo32 and I found these two sets of values..

so I used the hex editor.. like the guide said and edited:

4D 50 52 54 at the end of hddhackr

and in the first hddhacker I used the settings of the first one to get

09 f0 09 70

and for the second one:

09 e0  09 60

However when I tried both variants of the hddhackr, it still failed to find my HDD.

What am I doing wrong? any help would be gratefully received.

Also I can not get explorer to work. I can get partition 2 from my 20gb and can back up the the image, but if I extract or drag and drop anything from partition 3 it just gets stuck in a loop with the same files shoing as downloading.

I'm having trouble getting to my game saves for Lego Star Wars.  I went from the 20gig to the 120gig and everything else seems to work fine under my profile but when I start the game it basically tells me I don't have a profile and to create one in order to save.  I can go into my game info in the xbox console and it shows all my saves.  Anyone else??

Im not having any luck with detection with Hard Drive Hacker.

I have  the 22rsto model drive(yes it is the 120gb WD 1200Bev)

I have a Via raid plug in card it is a 6421 usb and sata combined card. The latest driver just changed it to a 3249.I have had no problem with mtkflash,Iprep etc. with 360 dvd drives drives in dos so I imagine I just have to find the right lines to edit.

The drive is detected and formatted in Windows.

I used the Hex Workshop per the tutorial  also and used lines one and three.

Any ideas on which line I should try? Thanks in advance.

Nevermind.........I got it to work after hours of headache.

I did everything right from the beginning so I dont know what the hell was going on with it not detecting.I have been modding along time and never had this sort of trouble. Who knows ....maybe the fact that I have been tired for hours made me miss something I normally wouldnt have.I doubt it but its possible.

Damn laptop with pcmcia sata card was a waste of time.Went back to desktop.
Eventually what worked was just editing the hex back and forth a few times but my initial settings ended up working the last time I was going to even going to bother try.....go figure  wink.gif   dry.gif

Just my opinion if I had known I was going to have issues in the beginning I would have forked out the extra dough for the actual 360 120gb drive but thats me.I was ready to take a hammer to it and say F it. biggrin.gif
Anyway thanks for posting the tut Reaper

Thanks for the guide! The only hex editing I had to do was to hddhackr to get it to recognize the drive. After that, everything went perfectly smooth. Now I have 120 gigs for my xbox from an old HDD I already had laying around, thanks!

I seem to be having a different problem than everyone else...  I was finally able to flash a 1200bevs drive after using hddhackr 1.0.  v0.91 didn't seep to work, probably because I have an nVidia chipset.  Anyway, hddhackr 1.0 seemed to work, although I didn't seem to get the same validation that everyone else seems to be getting after launching hddhackr the second time.  The drive did show Fujitsu something or other, but just gave me the option to flash, dump, or undo etc. instead of saying anything about being correctly formatted for XBox.  I figured I finally had flashed the drive successfully until I loaded it into the drive case and installed it in the XBox.  The drive shows up in the XBox as an unformatted drive and does not give any size or any other information.  When I try to format it, after I enter the serial number, the progress bar starts at about half way, and goes no further.  After about 5 or 10 minutes, a message appears: "There was a problem performing that operation." or something to that effect, with only an "OK" button.

I am using a HPDV9210 laptop and have successfully booted DOS from my flash drive.  hddhackr seems to work fine.  I used a hddss.bin that I found online.  Could this be a hardware related problem, possibly with the xbox hard drive case that I bought from ebay "AS IS"???  The 20GB hard drive that was in the case when I got it returned the same results when I tried to format it in my xbox.  Someone please help!  I'm stumped!

Thank you
