-Strict drive speed compliance - 12x only for game discs!

Does this mean i must burn the backups at 12x to make them work and play on live or what?

Sorry if this question is stupid...

I burn ALL my backups on verbs @ 4x and they work flawlessly.  Wherever you're getting your info from is sadly mistaken

it's recommended to burn at 2.4x because this gets the best results FOR MOST PEOPLE. But others manage to burn it perfectly at a higher speed

This release has nothing to do with AP25.  (...)
Please do not ask about AP25 or anything related to it. It is a non-issue for the moment. When it becomes a issue, we will address it.

The original question of the guy was NOT about AP25,
he rather asked what the (new) "SS2" is all about.

That thread is about the release of the first Xtreme firmware (it didn't have a version number), iXtreme 1.0 was released on May 29th, 2007.

I think it might be a typeo perhaps they meant xtreme firmware 1.0 not ixtreme cuz that would be about 3 years ago.

This release has nothing to do with AP25. Its not even been proven that it is being utilized yet. There are a few members in our crew and in the scene that have been aware of AP25 for about a year. The reason we do not publicize such information is because of questions and presumptions like the one above. No, what you are not doing is bad, just atypical. We do not want to have to put out the fires when the fires have been created out of recklessness, ignorance, or misunderstandings. People ask about 'ap25' when they dont have the slightest clue what it is.

Please do not ask about AP25 or anything related to it. It is a non-issue for the moment. When it becomes a issue, we will address it.

Okay that only answers one of my questions (IMG:style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif) .. But really, if you post an article about this new scare of AP25 then you should expect people to ask about it, not criticise them.  But looking that the threat is not immediate neither confirmed as per your statement then I won't pay too much attention to it.

Back to my original question what the hell is SS V2?

Seriously, that's your forum and I respect if you want to do whatever you do to control what happens here. But sometimes you guys sound kinda like stalinists while I expect to see free-speech, open-minded, anti-greedy-corporativism kind of talk. Sorry if you also don't want this forthrightness in your forum.

But back on topic, looks like either no one really knows what SSv2 is all about or they are forbidden to talk about that as well. Anyway where can we have more info?

Or, straight to the point: Will this make XBL "safer"?
