Mod Chip And Dvd Key

Hey guys, so i have one xbox 360 mobo without a dvd key, and my question is, i ill just buy one of those mod chips, would it bypass the dvd key matching process with my new unflashed dd drive? now in one word. would i be able to play games on it? or my mobo is useless right now ? one more question, i fried my dvd drive with key matched to my mobo by insertin the power plug upside down lol ya stupid me, maybe there is a way , maybe someone would unsolder the chip and just dump the fw using external programmer. that would rescue my dvd key and my mobo. im will pay for this operation. anyone is willing to do it ?
