Is It Possible To Have A Resolution Of 1152x 648?
« on: February 17, 2005, 06:22:00 AM »

Is it possible to have a reolution of 1152 X 648 on any of the Xbox linux distros.

The reason I ask is that when ever I hook up my PC to my HD set via compment that is the highest res I can use with no overscan and I thought that would be the best to fiddle with linux on the xbox.

If your Xbox is a 1.5 or earlier Xbox, then yes, you can get higher resolutions (up to 1080i, which is 1920x1080) with overscan support. If you have a 1.6, you're limited to 640x480/480p.

Well I have been trying and trying and can not get that res with fbset. When ever I do it everything gets scrambled and back to normal upon reboot.

Why is it not possible to run a screen adjust like in most emulators and linksbox?

BTW I have a 1.1 XBOX.

Well as far as Xebian goes, I don't really know how to do higher resolutions in that, although you should find a few readme's on the Xbox-Linux site. Now if you're running gentoox, simply login as root and run xbvset. It's much easier in gentoox.

As far as a screen adjust is concerned, I'm not too sure why you can't do it, I just know that it would probably be more work than figuring out how to enable hi-def resolutions.
