I haven't seen very much info on this, but it should work. I want to use a burner with Gentoox (I know I will have to use a switch or swap drives to use it), but I don't see any CD burning software in my Linux installation. I don't even know if it will automatically realize its a burner and not only a reader.

It doesn't actually have to be Gentoox either, if it's easier to use a different flavor that can install to a loopback FS, that's cool too.

Anybody got any info on this?

you could use any burner supported by linux and im guessing this one would be usb. as for softwhere thers tones of apps for linux you could easly install using emerge.

definately check out growisofs (there should be a dvd+rw-tools package) and cdrecord-prodvd.
