Hey,

I'm trying to get the update where I am able to view all kinds of video formats on my Xbox360. I don't have Xbox live so I've tried to download the update and put it on a flash drive/DVD-r but when I turn on my Xbox 360 it doesn't start the update process.

I tried the whole $SystemUpdate folder with the proper file in it, and the file format is correct and everything, but I cannot get it to work.

Any ideas why its not working?

I was able to obtain the dashboard update with the avatar and everything like that, just for everyone's information. Please let me know why my xbox isn't reading the flash drive/DVD-R update file.

As was mentioned, you must download it from the MS servers, that's the only way. When you say you don't have Live, I take it you mean you are banned? If not then you could just sign up for a free Silver account, if possible, and download it via that. No need for a Gold subscription.
