Access Files Stored On A Nas
« on: July 14, 2007, 03:14:00 PM »

Hi there,

I have a XB360 with xtreme fm on - is there a way i can access a shared folder on a Buffalo Live Station - is there something i can enable on Pcast or with DLNA that will enable me to access it with having to turn my pc on?

Thanks

Dan

my Lacie NAS has a built in UPNP/DLNA server like the buffalo.  The 360 can access the music on it with no problem (even inside of several folders) but for some reason it will not see the videos on the drive.  To get around this i setup an inexpensive file server, mapped the NAS to the server and installed the Zune sharing software and included the mapped directory in the shared folders in the Zune program.  This method while not optimal works fine.   I read some where that the 360 will not accept Video file from a direct network source.  Not sure if this is factual.  Anyone else dealing with this?
