No, the wireless adapter will not be able to do that. The only way you will be able to connect would be to share your internet connection on your pc. (Connect on the pc, the share the connection over lan to the xbox). But even that may not work, i don't know how the system works...

Like was said earlier. Connect your laptop to the access point like usual, then plug a crossover (I think) cable from the laptop to the 360 and enable internet connection sharing on the laptop.

Actually here are some other posts that have a little more full descriptions of how to make it work.
