Does Anyone know if I can use the component AV cables with a normal (red, yellow, white ) TV

Nope. Well, maybe with some 1337 soldering. Ok, but here's a trick: Stick the green plug in the yellow hole, and you can see pretty good, but the colors will be off.

You can not use the component part of the cables (red, blue green), however the same cable also has normal rca (red, yellow, white) which is what you are talking about. Also I should mention, in order to use the component part of the cables you will need to flip a switch on the cable (at least that is what eb-games said).

The cable is a multi cable with a switch as stated. Youw ill have to use the composite ones if you don't have component in.
I want RGB cables for the loungeTV. I am not buying a new TV with component just for this, until sky come out with Hi Def here in the UK

Not to be confusing but, technically you can use component cables as rca cables... BUT that's if you are using them to connect two devices. It wouldn't work on the xbox because the cables are built in.

I better elaborate. You can use component cables as red, white, yellow but you'd be using them as RCA, not as component.
