Not a bad idea, but I don't think it will work.

Remember, evoxdash.xbe resides in C: and I don't think a XBox game looks in the main root of C: for a file like that.

I might have to try and express my thought a little better.

What I do is that I make some copys of evoxdash.xbe to my computer then I rename the copys to update.xbe, downloader.xbe and dashupdate.xbe then I replace the original 3 files on the xbox hd with the renamed evoxdash.xbe files.
I know this work with the demos.xbe for example halo and rallisport championship . There I just deleted the demos and made a copy of evoxdash.xbe renamed it to demos.xbe and replaced the existing demos.xbe with with the new file. So when I press demos in those two games the xbox reboots to the dash.

why dont you just delete "dashupdate.xbe , update.xbe and downloader.xbe"
from your backup on hd or cd/dvd.

the game plays fine without it.
