Halo 2 Campaign System Link Co-op
« on: October 30, 2004, 01:26:00 AM »

I actually have no idea why Bungie would have left out campaign system link co-op.  I doubt it would be a performance issue, if anything it is more demanding for split screen campaign coop (the image has to be rendered twice).  Hell, they were able to get 4 player split screen in multiplayer, which is amazing in itself.  I personally would have been perfectly fine with just split screen multiplayer; as i hate to split up the screen four ways.  I am sure bungie considered campaign system link co-op, you'd think they would have emplimented it.  Even serious sam supports full screen campaign coop.  Sad, sad, sad.

If any others have ideas as to why, please shed some light.

would have been better maybe, but its another thing that wouldve added time to the release date... definitely not necessary either...

if youre fine with split screen multiplayer, why not split screen co-op... unless you plan on using tunneling software, which isnt what the developers intended...

How can you relate the production of Halo 2 with Rainbow Six? Both are different games, whereas the graphics in Halo 2 totally outshine Rainbow Six, among other things.

How would you know this without having a demo or playing the game yet? Yes halo 2 will probably outshine R6 3 in the graphics department, however making such a bold statement such as 'Halo 2 totally outshine Rainbow Six' is ridiculous.

There's enough screenshots and video footage to make a very good assesment of Halo 2's visual.  You don't have to actually play the game to come to that conclusion.

Maybe they didn't include it because it was more a coding issue rather than a resource issue.

I'm guessing why they left it out is becuase they just didn't feel like putting it in, they just got lazy.

I was looking forward to this feature, but then I heard it wasn't being put in the game.  Now my dumb friends will have to come to my house, which is terrible.

This has absolutely nothing to do with XBC.  People who don't want to pay for Live are still going to go to XBC for multiplayer.  There's no reason for them to leave something this big out of the game, especially with all the hype for it.
