I very much doubt that date is correct. Walmart lists it having a release date of February 3 05, and Amazon UK has a release date of May 15 05. It all purely speculation.

I think you can count this month out since no gold announcements have been made, and Valve has said they will do PC first and then work on other consoles.

I don't think we will see Half Life 2 for the console for quite some time. But it would be a nice suprise if they kept it real quite and released the game for xbox and PC on the same day.

Well its definently coming to the xbox but i seriously doubt anytime soon. Although they have had Devkits since before the Xbox's launch.

It would run just fine on the xbox. Particularily because it will only be 480p (640x480) res. Hell, i was not all that impressed with H2's graphics; the textures where pixelly and washout up close. IMO, Halo2 has better graphics then H2. The only problem is Halo2 mas res is 480p.

half-lifes engine can support higher resolution texture and model quality then halo2 but im sure you comp could not handle the highest quality?

I hope if it does come out we can play it online some how or with mods

Proof is welcome when typing hard to believe statements.

The xbox 2 is a hell of a lot more powerful then any current PC, so how on earth would it be difficult to run hl2 on a more powerful system? Granted, the xbox 2 has a little different arcutecture then a standard pc, but if it is half the work horse they are saying it will be, there should not be any problems.

I also believe that xbox 2 is going to be more powerful than any PC graphcis card since the it's gonna be the next generation ATI GPU.

But I don't get why porting it will not work, my guess is becasue it's going to be a different platform.

It is true...Half Life 2 has been cancled for Xbox...they will release it with Xbox 2.
