If you have a modded xbox already, all you need to do is create a new folder under your SWKOTOR 2 directory called "Override" (no quotes) and place all the files you download here.  You can find mods from pcgamemods.com.

Some prep work:

Go to your swkotor 2 game directory and open the file swdirsxbox.ini.  The file should like this:

[Alias]
HD0=d:\
OVERRIDE=d:\Override
ERRORTEX=d:\Errortex
TEMP=z:\Temp
MODULES=d:\Modules
LOGS=t:\Logs
LOCALVAULT=d:\LocalVault
DMVAULT=d:\DMVault
SERVERVAULT=d:\ServerVault
STREAMMUSIC=d:\STREAMMusic
TEMPCLIENT=z:\Tempclient
SAVES=u:\
CURRENTGAME=z:\currentgame
TEXTUREPACKS=d:\texturepacks
STREAMWAVES=d:\StreamWaves
GAMEINPROGRESS=z:\GAMEINPROGRESS
REBOOTDATA=z:\rebootdata
LIPS=d:\Lips

What you want to do is to change all the occurences of d: to f:\games (or e:\games depending on where your game is being stored) So the edited file should look like this:

[Alias]
HD0=f:\games\Star Wars KotOR II
OVERRIDE=f:\games\Star Wars KotOR II\Override
ERRORTEX=f:\games\Star Wars KotOR II\Errortex
TEMP=z:\Temp
MODULES=f:\games\Star Wars KotOR II\Modules
LOGS=t:\Logs
LOCALVAULT=f:\games\Star Wars KotOR II\LocalVault
DMVAULT=f:\games\Star Wars KotOR II\DMVault
SERVERVAULT=f:\games\Star Wars KotOR II\ServerVault
STREAMMUSIC=f:\games\Star Wars KotOR II\STREAMMusic
TEMPCLIENT=z:\Tempclient
SAVES=u:\
CURRENTGAME=z:\currentgame
TEXTUREPACKS=f:\games\Star Wars KotOR II\texturepacks
STREAMWAVES=f:\games\Star Wars KotOR II\StreamWaves
GAMEINPROGRESS=z:\GAMEINPROGRESS
REBOOTDATA=z:\rebootdata
LIPS=f:\games\Star Wars KotOR II\Lips

Also, make sure you backup the original ini file and keep it stored on your computer.  If you don't want to go through this process, you can download one of the patches that I have pinned on top of the forum to avoid what is now heavily known as the T3 Peragus Bug.

AS FAR AS HALO GOES...

If you've been around this site, you will notice that we (the moderators) DO NOT promote cheating on xbox live.  The modding community is here to enhance our gaming experience and not to create an unfair advantage over other players on Xbox Live.  I'm sure you would hate paying $60 for a service that you basically can't use because the person(s) that you're playing against keeps killing you because they turned on invincibility and practically cannot die.

If you want to learn more about mods on Halo, go the Halo or Halo 2 forum as they offer extensive help and tutorials about that game.

How about for the original KOTOR? How do I get mods to work on that?
*

The Original Kotor functions the same way.  The ini file that contains all the destination folders are structured just like the kotor 2 game.  Once you create the Override folder, make sure that the Override section of the ini file is pointing here.  The other good thing about Kotor 1 mods is that you have the option of replacing existing items with new ones or simply place them in the game for you to find.  Make sure you read the author's readme file to get a better understanding on how these mods work.

Hi.

So I only need to create this Override directory ?
And then what ?
Is it possible to add items to an ongoing play inventory ?
Like I have 2 lightsabers in my inventory and I want to add one more.
What kind of file do I have to place in the Override folder ?
I downloaded that Leto program but I'm not sure how to use it or which file to change using it.

Could somebody give me a few hints ?

All you have to do is to create the folder and place it under the F:\Games\SWKotor 2\ directory and your good to go.

Not all mods will work on the Xbox.  The mods that require the cheatconsole will obviously not work so make sure you read the readme.  As far as inventory goes, there are some that places the item(s) in your inventory and is accessible even in the middle of your game.  What I suggest though is for you to use mods that convert either the workbench or other things like consoles and stuff.  There is a mod out there that turns the Kolto tank into a Lightsaber and Jedi Robe dispensing machine.

You don't need any other program.  Just download the mod, place them in the Override folder and boom, it should be ready for play.

Thank you so very much for your help, darth_turtur.

Custom workbench is nice, but it doesn't allow to get items in a 100% freely way since the character needs a certain amount of components as well as a certain level. Not very convenient, lol.
So there's actually no way to freely add items (lightsabres, blasters, accessories) during an ongoing play ?

Anyway, I'll have a look at the List Of Kotor Resources thread.

Thanx again for taking some of your time to answer my n00bish question tongue.gif

No problem...

There is a mod out there that let's get ALL ITEMS FOR FREE via the workbench.  It's called SW Kotor 2 Addon V7.  You can download it here:

http://trainers.evolutionx.info/dload.php?id=315

It basically turns ANY workbench into an item dispenser.  Read the attached readme.txt before you start though.  Have fun!!!

Thanx !
I can see no readme.txt though ...
Do I proceed as usual, by uploading the files into the Override folder ?

Yep.  Place everything in the Override folder and proceed as usual.  If you can't find the readme (strange), just refer to this page for instructions/cautions:

http://trainers.evolutionx.info/pg/downloa...ndex.php&root=1

It also gives you a summary of what you'll be getting.

Have fun!

Thanx!
I tried KSE on KOTOR1 today, and that's actually what I want, lol.
Do you know if KSE works with KOTOR2 save files ?

I'll definitely try Kotor 2 Addon V7 anyway.

By the way, does all this work with PAL versions ? Cuz that's what I'm actually using ...

Were you able to successfully modify your gamesave and run it on your xbox?  There are a lot of people here saying that it doesn't work for them - both PAL and NTSC users.

You're right, my save file modified with KSE didn't work and crashed while I was loading it in the actual game, but I thought it had something to do with the fact I had not always hit the "Commit changes" button ... but maybe that's because of my PAL version indeed.
Do you know any PAL user who was able to do it ?

Is that also the case for KOTOR2 Addon V7 ?

No.  These 2 things are completely different.  Just go and try it.  I'm sure you'll have a lot of fun with it.
