I wish there was a way to get the dx8 water hack to work on the xbox so that we could get all that reflective goodness. But then again, the file layout is different from the PC version so I guess it's not possible

Yeah, since the xbx and PC maps aren't completely the same, there are small problems.  For example: some textures appear purple.  This is probably because the xbx does not have that effect which was in the PC version.  Also, collsion does not always work correctly all the time, like object falling through floors and sometimes vehicles driving through geometry.

So there are a few differences, but not enough to make them unusable on the xbox.  If we can figer out what those difference are and start creating PC HL2 maps tailored for the xbx.

If someone could test maps on HL2 PC and then on HL2 xbx, and see what does not work properly, that would help a lot.
