Controller Not Working In Any Emulator

Hello

I've just installed NeoGenesis and pcsxbox, but when I load the applications my controller freezes. I am using UnleashX and I get the same problem when running from XBMC.

The controller is connected to port 1, and I've tried with standard controller port and USB adapter. The controller is one of those transparent ones.

The controller works flawless in XBMC and UnleasX, also in DoomX and Quake2x / Quake3x and in all my games. Is this a emulator-specific problem, or just a config file missing?
