Help Editing The Halo 2 Launcher
« on: September 27, 2007, 09:22:00 AM »

I hope I'm asking in the right forum, if not, please move it for me. Since 1.5 update has been out for awhile now I have wanted to edit the Halo 2 Launcher to reflect this. So I could switch between 1.0 and 1.5. I've already Hex Edited the default.xbe to launch default1.5.xbe instead of default1.1.xbe, but I would also like to edit the graphics on screen to show 1.5 instead of 1.1. I've tried several programs to extract the 'textures.xpr' and non worked except a DOS tool. I have Adobe Photoshop CS2 and the Nvidia DDS Plugin installed. When I try to load any of the extracted DDS files they look all messed up.

Are the files being extracted correctly?
Is Adobe not Reading them Correctly?

Anyways, thanks for any help given!

Edit
Maybe someone can suggest a tool to make a new launcher from scratch.

OK, nevermind.... I didn't even need to extract the textures.xpr.... I could just Hex Edit the default.xbe.... so now it shows Halo 1.5 instead of Halo 1.1 on the launch menu...
