p.s. for those who don't get the logic behind that, i'm simply drawing a paralell with US/UK policy over the last decade or so. So there is no logic, apart from vague links that make no sense whatsoever.

Lets use the new XBOX360 to crack the old 2048 key, just get each 3.2ghz
core running, and link a bunch of the new XBOX360 systems up together
in a network cluster. With the new XBOX360 rated a 1TFLOP of floating-point
match, it would take a lot less time to crack the key.

Only problem is we will first have to crack the new system to run the Project X
program on the new XBOX360.

Unfortunately, that module in cryptology isn't going to make you very optimistic..

Edit: My guess is that the new xbox will use the same level of encryption, but fewer (if any) busses will transport open details pertaining to the architecture.. They'll probably take a larger lesson from the ATA security protocol etc..

Lol, its too bad that Operation Project X was a distributed computing project.

They allowed anyone to join up, devoting CPU power to cracking keys.
About how many teraflops does a few thousand computers get you?

A shitload more than 1 teraflop I can tell you that.
