Absolutely beautiful.  Works like a charm.

I'd just like to note that this uses the -audio key (which makes perfect sense).

To decode, save the above text in Notepad as "audio.b64".  Then, extract it with WinZip and rename the resulting "UNKNOWN.001" file to "audio.rar".  Lastly, extract with WinRAR.

Of course, that's only one way to decode it.  I'm sure there are plenty of other ways.

First off, I'm glad this helped out someone smile.gif

Mordenkainen,

My fault, I should have known this was already out. I've been trying to watch the boards and work & school at the same time. Not going too well, but we could use someone of your level on the moderation team for the exploit specific board. Let me know if you are up to it, we can talk on irc if you use it at all.

Actually wanted to mention Catfish gave all the credit to Morden for the discovery :)  Both people are becoming serious helpful players in the search for the ultimate exploit!!!

Ah, thanks. Got to the unknown.001, and was stuck. Thanks!

Note, you can manually make the changes to your existing ST.DB if you would like to use a different key (Habibi, ETC.).

Morden, under what scenario will I need to change the key in ST.DB?
Or what will prompt me to prefer 1 key over the others?

To save some disassembly, are the other keys publicly published somewhere?  These keys are 4 bytes long and patches the end of the public key right?  Appreciate your advice.

I know with the previous swapless method, I ran into problems with THUG (assuming because of the custom soundtracks), has anyone tried this game out with this exploit yet?

Morden,
will you still be revising the v3 package to fix the "fat thumb corruption", because this fix doesn't seem to apply to your pack (diff directories, no linux.xbe, etc)?

denky,

Sorry, Didn't mean to change the keys, but to change ST.db's that use other keys.....

Like if you use the st.db from my package, it will use the habibi key instead of the audio.

Juggler,

It will have the same issues, but there are several methods you can use to fix this problem with troublesome games. You can edit the game to use a different file (you will have to do the same for the msdash!). Or you can use something like the gamestub in my package.

anjilslaire,

Instructions for updating the package if you already have it installed are posted in my thread.

I will be releasing an update, but have a lot of things to fix. I'm not sure how long it will be before then.

I would love to say yes, but I'm not sure I would have the time.

I tell ya what, let me figure out what the new year is gonna bring in the way of work, and then we'll see. I would hate to say yes, then leave ya high and dry.

Morden,

Any help is appreciated, dont worry about it if you can't do it. We're not looking for you to quit your day time job to do any moderation smile.gif

As for the stability of this st.db, have you tried to "corrupt" the st.db by turning the box on without any a/v cables then plugging them in and performing the exploit?

I know for a fact this corrupted the old exploit, with cd-swap and swap-less st.db's (I posted a while ago as "mathieu")

Let me know any of your findings. I forgot to ask you this before, I will have to try it out when I get home. It's 9:20pm here New York time, and I'm sitting at work sad.gif. Only working until midnight, so it's not that bad.

Anyways, Merry Christmas to all
