OR, picking up at his "Now have 2 choices" step.

Install new hard disk,
Burn Slayer's auto-installer 2.5 Final to a CD-RW drive.

Boot Slayer's and select "Prepare new drive".

Wait 4-5 minutes and you are done.

Much simpler.

Yeah - you've got it:

  • Install chip
  • Burn EvoX to a CDRW
  • Link to PC via FTP
  • BACKUP C AND E DRIVES TO PC !!!!!

Now have 2 choices

  • Install EvoX on current HDD to see what it does - good idea for practice but will mean your orginal HDD isn't "original" anymore
  • Install on a bigger HDD (which I'll go more into as it's slightly harder)

  • Boot with EvoX CD (with format options) then format the new drive from the menu
  • Reboot with disk, link with PC and FTP ALL original files across
  • Bung EvoX across (with configured evox.ini)
  • Remove EvoX disk and boot from new HDD

Now to lock new HDD

  • Install config magic on new HDD
  • Put in old HDD power on and boot
  • Keeping mains lead in and on (but Xbox off) remove old HDD and put new one in
  • Load config magic and lock HDD

(The reason you do this is so it boots without EvoX (when the chip is off) - keeping the power lead in stops an error - forget which one, but it does  ;)

If you want to use the original HDD for something else, install EvoX, install config magic, unlock it then format it in PC

Then install apps etc
