I updated the file and works like a charm, but i can't figure one thing... how do i go (playing music) to full screen visualization? and when o full screen how do i get to the blades without stoping the playback? Using the remove of course! Previously it was the power button, i like the new remap but i need one button to do this!

Programad, you're gonna have to create the AdvanceSettings.xml file on your own.  Just open a new notepad document and type this:

<AdvancedSettings>
  <displayremotecodes>true</displayremotecodes>
</AdvancedSettings>

Then File>Save As>AdvancedSettings.xml

Save it to your UserData folder in your XBMC folder

It worked, but i discovered that my remote doesn't have a code for every buttons, just few ones. I think is becouse it is a "learning" remote, and the guy who programmed it, forgot some buttons, if i have a chance to see an original remote, i might be able to re-program it.

I don't play music myself from the xbox. But I will look into it, when I get a chance. Hopefully over the weekend! No promises though!

I've done quite a bit of editing around.

Main changes

You can now press "Title" and it will skip between FullScreen and back again in music and video.

I've also changed it so that on the Media blade, the Menu button does work! So you can now disable the MC360 Guide link. You don't need it any more!

Either play around or read the xml file.

theres one button ive always looked for on the remote .. althou i dont even know if it has one mapped on the pad !
that is, when playing a proper DVD, and its loaded up, and ya selected the film to play in the dvd menu .. and the movie is playing.. the key to get back to the DVD menu....

Hey guys.

I wanted to change from the regular crappy DVD remote to something better, and then realised i had extra universal remotes that came with my digital cable terminal.

I managed to set it up so it will recognize the remote. Only thing is...the only button currently working is the power button

When i press it in XBMC, it brings up the Shutdown menu.

This is the exact remote right here to give you guys an idea of what im using.



Anyone help me out on how to get all the remotes functions to work...not just the shutdown menu? thx!

It seems the only buttons I can get to work to send a signal is the Record button(takes a screenshot), the rewind, fast forward, play, pause and stop buttons. The rest of them show no OBC remote code when pressed.

i have an RCA remote for an old tv, and the remote from it works 100%! Only button that doesnt work on it is the "guide" button... it is the exact remote that the xbox uses, but without the dvd controls, and some buttons do other things, like the guide, info, menu, clear on it where as on the x-remote they are title, info, menu, back. .. so yes, the info and menu buttons do the same, but i'll get around to seeing what i can do with the other 2. Also the Display button on x-remote is the POWER button on the RCA... so ... no changing that hehe
