Ok, I very easily fixed the problem of accessing my HDD, but the 360 skin still wont let me access the XBMC blade.  Is there any option that can fix that?

Forget that, simple re-install fixed that problem.

Movie Thumbnail feature request for XBMC

I was wondering if there could be a larger preview option for the video/film thumbnails? The thumbnails are hard to see because they are so small (I have a ordinary PAL TV) and the view "large icons" doesn't help  unsure.gif . Maybe imdb thumbnail for the smaller pic as it is now, and another better quality image (that I can choose from the harddrive) for the preview of the thumbnail. The option to have this would be great  biggrin.gif

If I posted this XBMC feature request in the wrong forum section then please move it to the right place.

If you're having problems with slowdown/bad performance and/or not being able to view the trailers in the Apple script, see if you're running XBMC in 1080i... if you are, change to 720p instead, works much faster for me.

New preset pack (vertex) is pretty interesting,but File E:\Apps\Xbmc\UserData\Visualisations\Vortex.xml is missing in this release.

Following code should enable new preset.

<visualisation>
   <presets>vertex\presets\</presets>
   <currentpreset>0</currentpreset>
</visualisation>

It shouldn't be needed, I asked our developers and they think it gets created auto if missing... It's not in CVS either

I agree it shouldn't...
But when I was going to test vortex preset pack XBMC (or maybe MC360) wasn't able to locate any new preset pack and load it.
After creating the config file preset pack could be selected from menu and loaded. And indeed config was automatically updated after first loading of preset pack.
Votrex is on the first place in the changelog. I don't understand how it could not be in CVS.

The xml is not in CVS because it is not needed. It gets created the first time you run it. There is nothing in there that you need to edit by hand.

And Vortex doesn't use preset packs so I have no idea how you managed to select one. And its got nothing to do with MC360 either.

And that xml you created wouldn't have done anything anyway as you have spelt Vortex wrong and therefore the path to the presets is wrong.

You are right. I checked this all second time. I was almost completly wrong.
First mistake: Full Screen Wizualisation Menu ("Start" on Full-screen music)in MC360 has no button for changing wizualizations- MilkDrop can change preset packs but Vortex is separate visalization. I mistook this menu with PMIII's menu in which visualizations can be changed.
Second mistake: Creating this file didn't enabled possibility to turn Vortex on from Full Screen Wizualization Menu. I must have changed to Vortex on System Blade, and forgot about it.
Third mistake : I really spelt Vortex wrong.
Forth mistake: Checking everything AFTER posting on forum smile.gif

P.S. Great Visualization.
p.p.s. How set album art to be seen by vortex?

Got a bizarre problem whereby changing the resolution to 720p or 1080i on project mayhem III is not changing the font size. they are always HUGE

enable albumart in Vortex settings (should be available via fullscreenmusic OSD)
IIRC: play music with EMBEDDED albumart

The albumart doesn't have to be embedded, the music just needs to have a thumbnail associated with it, eg a folder.jpg
