Hi-

I've been building the CVS lately, and have also tried this & the May 21st T3CH builds on three boxes.  On one of the boxes, any attempt to launch a program/xbe from any source locks the box up to a black screen.  Whether the program is launched from the 'My Programs' menu, the 'My Files' menu, the dashboard link from the power menu, or launching the dashboard through the web interface.

This box works OK with a build from 4/30.

v: 1.6
Xecuter 2.6
Bios modified to launch E:\XBMC\default.xbe

Wish the search engine worked/would have helped the hour of reading I had just done trying to find a similar problem/ultimate solution.

If anyone has an answer, I'd sure appreciate it.  I will run a full log tonight in the hopes that it may shed some light.  I wonder if the AdvancedSettings.xml containing anything having to do with setting a LCD display/default would cause this kind of issue?  One of the three boxes has an X3LCD, so I put the default settings for it in there.  The third box reacts OK to the setting although it has no LCD (but it is not a v1.6 xbox).

Willing to try anything, as this is the box I prefer to game on.  Kinda sucks that I can't launch anything!

tried deleting the database?

userdata/database/myprograms(number).db

if that doesn't work, log please. debug mode.

Shouldn't crash though.

Perhaps it has something to do with the trainer code (I notice some asm in there related to lcds)?

You don't happen to run with trainers enabled do you?

i believe i have figured out my Context Menu issue a bit more, although i haven't done super extensive testing in anything other than My Programs. within My Programs, i cannot get the context menu to display the Edit Source option on any bookmark which contains more than one Path tag. should i be using the old single-tag format?
like: <path>E:\SomeDir,F:\OtherDir</path>
as opposed to:
<path>E:\SomeDir</path>
<path>F:\OtherDir</path>

when using the second style, Edit Source refuses to appear sad.gif

also, i can't seem to get any bookmarks to work when pointing to a specific XBE even though this was previously an option, is this intentional? i like to roll my ms dash into my Apps section, but this is not currently working sad.gif i know the dash is accessible via the Shutdown Menu, i just was curious about this change.

Yes, support for xbe instead of a path has been removed.

And yeah, multi-path bookmarks aren't fully supported under the Edit Source option yet.

sorry..have to make a new post...no edit button for me on my last post...anyhow...i looked thru the xml files, and i noticed that in the settings.xml (in the 0face008 dir) this is all it has for weather

so i tried looking in HOME/UserData and i dont have an advancedsettings.xml
the only ones i have are
keymap, lcd, partymode, and rssfeeds
also
i thought there was no longer XboxMediaCenter.xml....when i installed this version i totally wiped everythign in my xbmc dir and the 0face008 dir so i dont understand why i have XboxMediaCenter.xml again

no deadzone setting anymore? I can't have the volume bar popping up all the time, my wireless controllers are way too sensitive. Am I missing it or something?

I am having SMB problems after upgrading to this latest version.  The install was a clean one, and I never had a problem with SMB until now.  Looking at the xbmc.log, no information is given that it is even trying to connect to an SMB.  Hopefully someone can help!

Edit:  I actually figured out how to put XBMC into debug mode and tried once again.  The proper line is passed properly, and then it gets this:

Any idea what could be the problem? The user name is multiple words, could that be an issue??

thanks for the info on bookmark stuff. that kinda blows about removing direct links, but i can just make a shortcut XBE, so no biggy.
when the Edit Source dialog gets updated, will a way to set the thumbnail graphic be added? that would be super nice wink.gif
