dude easy with verbals- try the samba guide in my sig- its very basic- none of this username and password stuff, you should be able to get that to work

i actually thought the link you used to start with was relatively straight forward- mines even more basic but try it anyway

Here's my tutorial:

Download Xbox Media Center 2004-07-23 [Y].rar

Extract and FTP it to your Xbox

Leave the config file the way it is


Download ccxgui_1.3.exe

Install it on your PC

Drag and drop whatever directories you would like to share

Make sure the ccxgui is cleared on your firewall


Power up Xbox

Load up XBMC

Select Auto Discover XBMSP from the relevant audio/video/files section

Sit back and relax (get it, relax)

samba is the easiest I have ever seen. I didnt even read the tutorial or thought its necessary. just right click on any folder and then click on sharing and security and in the sharing tab click on "share this folder". I am also running xp pro.

I think you should check that your server servicve is running. Go to start menu>run> type services.msc and press enter. a list of services will show up, scroldown to server, right click on it and from the drop down list select "Autometically" and restart computer.

also make sure your router isnt blocking ur samba connection.
