Boxplorer Vs. Dvd2xbox
« on: July 31, 2003, 08:15:00 AM »

I've been using boxplorer since the biginning, but i'm whondering if i should move along.
i have tried Px-HDD Loader in the past but didn't like it (doesnt report errors, Auto patches games,...)
now i'm thinking of trying dvd2xbox, i haven't installed it yet so i would really appreciate some thoughts.

does it report errors? (read error, long filenames,...)
can the auto patching be disabled?
some other things i should be aware off?

thx in advance.

Try it and make your own experiences  biggrin.gif
Auto patching can't be disabled but may be implemented in the next release if this is a feature request.  rolleyes.gif

yes, then it is  wink.gif
i'd rather have my backups 1:1, not patched or modified in any way (people should have a choice)

edit: just tried the program, well, eurm... i had a look it it. didn't bother trying it.

boXplorer doesn't report errors either.  It just creates 0-byte files, from what I know.

XBcopy is the predecessor to DVD2Xbox.  It is blue instead of green  laugh.gif and does not auto-patch games.  You have to manually rename the folders, but if you were using boXplorer, then XBcopy must be less work for you.

what about xtoolbox?
dost it report errors, long filenames?
Doest it patch the xbe's?

yeah, i'm going for the looks and functionality  biggrin.gif

i must say, i never had problems with boxplorer be4, it dind't copy etm due to the long filenames (so that's good) but i dind't know it didn't handle read errors (bad smile.gif)...

of only dvd2xbox looked more like boxplorer, nice explorer layout, nice colors, no patching...

I've used xToolBox from the beginning and don't have any complaints.

i cannot see whats wrong with PxHDLoader ?? (1.2 that is)
does EVRYTHING anmd its just so dam easy, and its clear and everything is on the same screen as well .. iits perfect for the non-computer person .. and if a non-computer person can do it all then people who have computer konledge finds it REALLY simple

i think the ONLY thing i found annoying is that it dont name the directorys .. but if ya Not a PC kidna person (or donty even have one) then who cares !

and whats so wrong with patching it ?! i mean be different if patching made it unreadable for some versions of xbox or chips but it dont !! what is so wrong ?

i mean dvd2xboxcan do video ripping that Pxhddloader cannot...
and maybe pxhddloader int that configurable but ya can choose what partition, and it uses its own dirctory. all from the save screen ..

and it DOES have errors .. it tell ysa if the games to big, tells ya about long file names ..
dvd2xbxo starting coping a games that i NEW didne fit on there (i was testing and it was the v4)
so entill dvd2xbox gets more grahical and all mainly on one page... then all i will use it for is dvds.
i use pxhddloader for all me games

Mick ..

I try to find some backgrounds but nothing fits (and I'm so bad in painting)   smile.gif
Anyone out there who could design a nice background (computer, metalic, etc) with
two lines for the head, one for the status (tail) and in the middle the rest ?  rolleyes.gif
