No Controller When Playing Homebrew Games
« on: May 20, 2009, 05:05:00 PM »

I've installed xHeretic on my XBMC loaded XBOX. However, when I start the game, I lose the controller functionality and I cannot play it. Am I missing something that I need to configure?

Thanks

Is your controller in port "1"...?
this is usually the problem.

Does it do this with other homebrew games? If not, then perhaps the controls in Hexen just need to be defined by you.

Currently, my controller is in port 3, but I will change it to 1. I am able to play DoomX with no problem, so I'm wondering if Clockface is right and I also have to change the controller config...

When using homebrew stuff, weather its games or emu's, it is best to have your controller in port 1.
This has happened countless times to people.

I don't know what compels people to put there controllers in random ports, in the first place... but they do. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif)

Ok, I plugged into controller port 1 and it worked perfectly. Thanks for the advice!  (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)  I had originally been in controller port 1 before I got any of the homebrew stuff and the controller seemed to act flakey when browsing around in XBMC for some reason, so I switched to port 3. That's my excuse  (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

Good...
That must be the 5th time I have helped with the same problem... and that's just me.
It is a weird phenomenon in my opinion.

Now I want people that this has happened to, to post in their "signature's":
Remember to use controller port 1, first.
