Quake 2 Help
« on: February 05, 2007, 06:06:00 PM »

I just installed quake2x, even got the music to play. i was playing, everything was working fine until i had the great idea of messing up with the resolution, i changed it to something like 720 and the screen went black. restarted it and all i got was the same black screen and the music playing, so the game is working it's just not showing on the screen. I erased it, installed it again and got the same thing. erased the game saves from the M$ dashboard, installed it again and i still get the same black screen. what do i have to erase to get everything the way it was before i installed it? there must be a temp file or something that saved the stupid video configuration and i guess that's why it isn't working. Help please, i really wanna play this game. i have ftp access to the box if that helps. Thanks in advance.

nothing in x & y
in the Z folder there's a folder called fonts and these files
cache000.map
cache001.map
preferences.dat

is it safe to erase the contents of these folders?

Thanks for replying

replying to my own original post:

i already erased the cache and x, y & z drives are now empty and it still won't run. I mean, the game is working, cause i can hear the music and the shots, it just is running at a non supported resolution. already did a clean install and it doesn't help. all i get is the same black screen. could any of you kind souls show some screens of the menu so i can make changes to the video settings without actually seeing it in the screen? Thanks in advance, any help will be extremely appreciated.

Did you change the resolution in the game or at the MS dash?

When you boot the Xbox, what screen comes up?
