Game Works With Mame On Comp, Not With Mameox

I have been having some problems with two games. Metal Slug 5 and SVC Chaos. They both should be able to be emulated on the Xbox according to other people but it keeps saying there are files missing, or that they are the wrong length. I have tried multiple different roms of the game and I have also used romcenter to check and fix any errors. One thing that is weird is that SVC Chaos won't run but SVC Chaos Super Plus will, and it needs the original to run. Is there any way to tell the emulator no files are missing, or to have it run it without comparing it to its records?

what version of mameox are you running?
im geussing its mameox128 plus(20060505),if so then check the supported games list text in file explorer on unleash dashboard and it should tell you the exact rom version you need.

for metal slug 5 mslug5 is correct but i think the rom you have is 76mb.i have that one for fbaxxx,but for mamedox you need "mslug5.zip" but the 77mb version,thats the one i have in mamedox arcades and it works just fine.so get the 77mb version.

I got SVC Chaos working by using a bootleg (svcboot.zip). I'm still having issues with Metal Slug 5 though... I have the 77.4 MB one and it contains:

268-c1c.bin
268-c2c.bin
268-c3c.bin
268-c4c.bin
268-c5c.bin
268-c6c.bin
268-c7c.bin
268-c8c.bin
268-m1.bin
268-m1_decrypted.bin
268-p1cr.bin
268-p2cr.bin
268-v1c.bin
268-v2c.bin

It still says that something is wrong with 268-m1.bin and/or 268-m1_decrypted.bin I can't remember. And it says various files are missing. Should I try renaming the 268-c1c.bin for example to 268-c1.bin? I think when it says they are missing it says those files without the c at the end.

Yeah I'm still having some issues getting mslug5 to work. Our conversation helped me a lot though and I got svc chaos working too. Right now I'm just trying to find a mslug5 rom with contents that match xyteam's post. I keep finding the same files though, the ones I posted originally. I'm trying to look for older roms now. \

I have another question:

What is the difference between the different Mameox's?

I have MameDox 1.1, but I hear people talking about:

-Mameox128
-Mamedox Platinum
-and Mamedox Arcades or something

Just curious because maybe the version I'm using doesn't have the right compatability

mameox 128plus(20060505)-a lot of people prefer this version,originally intended for xbox with the 128mb ram upgrade,comes with a games supported text file which tells you the exact romnameyou need.this emu works fine with normal xboxs with 64mb ram.
mamedox platinum-basically an emulator and roms package,roughly about 700 roms that all work and no bugs or glitches,kind of a best of mame,but not as much options as mameox128 plus.basically is mamedox1.1 reskinned and looks good.very simple to use and a good package.
ps also comes with metal slug5 and all the most popular games.
mamedox arcades-an update of mamedox plainum,with 100 new roms and a new skin and new features.basically you just overwrite the platinum files with the arcades files and your good to go.alsoo comes with a romscan function which was added,so you can nowadd your own roms.
their basically all good emus,ive got them both running on my hdd.

Awesome, thanks for all the info! I have been using MamedoX 1.1 for a long while and love it, so if Platinum and Arcades are updates of this version, then I'm gonna FTP it and give it a try.


P.S. I downloaded Platinum when I heard it contained a certain ROM that has been giving me troubles and Viola! it's the version in this post, so I will give that a test when I get my Xbox back. Either way if I upgrade to Arcades it should work.
