offhand i dont really care for the no mem card method mainly because i dont like the fact of unplugging hardware while its in use and plugging it into another machine after booting... even if it isnt the power cable. but other than that you just have to know where to wire your switches and you can flash your bios from 007

here is a basic step by step for ya tho

I.) First things first get that save file onto your xbox
http://www.xbox-scen...-no-memcard.php

II.)This tutorial will show you how to wire the switches
http://www.xbox-scen...tibios-tsop.php

III.) Install EvoX

IV.) Enjoy

just a quick question.....which SPDT switch do i need?

Single-pole double-throw (SPDT) types are available in the following switching actions. Non-locking indicates biased or momentary action.

Type Action Description

A ON-ON Locking  both ways

B ON-OFF-ON Locking both  ways, centre off

which one do i need? A or B?

you want the one that is on either way
where you switch it one way and a19 is grounded
you switch it the other way and a19 is powered
you never need it inbetween

i reccomend using a bios from xbins for original MS

MS + MS + Whatever + Whatever I switched to EvoX Blue it think it was d6 i dunno whatever the newest is

1.unzip 007savewithraincoat
2.click on udata
3.click 4541000d
4.click on 0000000000
5.click on raincoat
6. there is a bios.bin
is it i change this 'bios.bin'?
   swap the bios i want?
   e.g retail + retail + evox d6 + evox d6  make 1 meg bios in ms-dos
i know i can get bios from #xbins
7.after i have change the bios.bin (juz swap the bios i want?delete and paste?)

then put the 007savewithraincoat to memory card?

indeed you are as that is the way i do it

however there is something i am curious about  but dont have the money to purchase another xbox to try it on

i am wondering since when you go to update the bios like from evox dash,  you use a 512k image

well what if you only used a 512k image to begin with?
what if you did all your soldering at one time so not to hassle with removing the board twice
could you not install the switch when you enable write access and only write one half of the bios to begin with? thats my question...

but once again yes sallylu you are right

Yes you can flash a 512k bios to begin with. You either have to have the switched installed correctly or use the raincoat commands to do it.

Yes you can flash a 512k bios to begin with. You either have to have the switched installed correctly or use the raincoat commands to do it.

Now, RUN over to your pc, and go to http:// 192.168.0.64 … now you’ll see a webpage... which is being delivered by your Xbox =p. So, now you can telnet to 192.168.0.64, then type “cd ../../media/E/UDATA/4541000d/000000000000/raincoat”..

Once here, type: “./raincoat -p bios.bin”
to flash 512k original bios

>>>To make this a 1 meg file with this setup we go to command prompt (DOS) and type:
copy /b retail_4817_256k.bin+retail_4817_256k.bin+evoxd6ejectfix.bin+evoxd6ejectfix.bin

and put the 1meg file back to 007savewithraincoat.zip

Switch the SPDT
type ./raincoat -a 80000 bios.bin <-------i have download retail 4817 256k.bin
                                                                                 from #xbins

Switch the SPDT opposite side
type ./raincoat -a 80000 bios.bin <-----i have download evo d6 ejectfix.bin
                                                                                 from #xbins

if i do this xbox will automatically flash the 1st half bios with retail
and the second half with evo...... am i right?
