How To Enable And Disable Tsop Flashing

I just flashed my TSOP with the Matrix.  In order to continue to flash it, do I need both a wire connected to W1 & W2 along with J1 jumpered ?  Or can I just leave J1 jumpered and removed the wire from W1-W2 ?
