with the V1.2 and later xbox versions it is almost too easy to do a tsop flash.

I have started using conductive silver paint  to join the two points that need to be joined on the top side of the motherboard. You do not even need to remove the motherboard or unplug the dvd drive. Just lift up the dvd drive, dab a tiny spot of siver paint on each point. wait 5-10 mins for it to dry, flash it with the latest evox or raincoat and you are done.

I have found that evox sometimes has problems with the newer  xbox versions. the latest raincoat worked for me in each case.

I have done about 8 tsop installs and 2 mod chip installs all of them successes.

Done about 15 Box with SplinterCell, MemoryCard and conductive paint. Flashed with Raincoat every versions with no problem.

I've removed the connections on the last ones for protections (took 2 minutes)

blink.gif  I scraped it off with a hot needle, razor, and "flossed" under the pins with a stand of wire. Other than that, all good. It seems like no one gives a f@ck about Xbox Live! anymore. I tell people, "If I do this, you can't use XBoxlive..." and no one even cares... Thats why I got a mod chip and I dont even use live anymore. hehe

First and only TSOP flash experience: Soldered the connections perfect on the first try. Flashed my 1.0 with the X2 4977 BFM cause I'm an impatient idiot.

Waiting to get up the money to get a chip and mod it properlike.

On a lighter note, the old Playstation 1 is getting some use again!

Flashed several now and if you don't want to go on live or have the ability to run multibios (without lots of effort), then a TSOP flash is SO the way to go.  I mean why do you want to spend over $50 bux for a mod chip just to run one bios when you can just stick it on the main board.  I don't understand.

Glad to see the reorganization of this forum . . . keep up the good work.

Flashed 5 X-Box'es so far with TSOP Flashing (Either 007 or Splinter Cell method). All 1.0's and 1.1's. No problems so far. Used the A19 to VCC/GND method for splitting the chip for X-Box LIVE! Usage.

biggrin.gif man this Sooo easy !!
I use raincoat for all my TSOP's but I have had 1 ST chip that  raincoat was not able to write? I used evox and it worked fine smile.gif
Just read the tutorials and than read them again than you really cant mess it up, most mistakes come from people being in a darn hurry!! Really is it worth rushing?

Flashed over 20boxes 1.0-1.5 with or w/o winbond chips..

only used the top 2 points on 1.2-1.5, on 1.0-1.1 used one upper, one under..

using 007 raincoat 5.01 (from Xobex) for 1.2-1.5, 007 Evox for 1.0-1.1.

flashing Evox M7 on 1.2-1.5 and newest Xecuter (4981) on the 1.0-1.1

non of em have failed using this method.

altough 2 boxes have failed when i tried X4979 on two winbond 1.4-1.5 boxes (flash successful, but when power on frag)..,
and i had to solve some homebrew chip to be able to reflash the tsop's..
after i used M7 and they worked perfect!

the same X4979 from the same mem-card (that the 2boxes failed flashing on) worked on a 1.4 box with another chip (non winbond)..

so, be careful flashing X49xx to any winbond box.. if u not want a badflash!

happy tsopping mates

I don't flash commercially, I have only flashed for friends.  I have done 11 xbox's so far covering all versions.  Everything has gone fine with each.  Lets be honest, its easy really, thanks to all the hard work of people round here and various other places.  If you read up, nothing can go wrong!

As long as you use the latest bios, the only thing that can go wrong is using the wrong size.  There is no real excuse for this either!
