This is wierd.
I can FTP to the XBOX using FlashFTP, Core FTP UltraFtp and the FTP from the Xenium OS BUT I CANNOT see any of the xbox folders, at time i see the 'D' folder but that is it. I can run the slayers 2.6 from dvd but I dont want to do anything till i back up the HDD. but i cant see it.
what am i missing?

BTW:
1.4 Xbox
thompsom DVD with seagate HDD
running Evox M8
Xenium Ice (solderless)

First, try disabling show all/hidden files in your FTP client.. Also.. check your IDE cable, make sure your HDD is plugged in and powered, is jumpered to CS, and is in the correct position on the IDE chain...

In the xenium OS, if you go to launch menu --> Add Item --> Flash, do you see drive letters other than D: ?

Well, if you haven't yet, try a new IDE cable.. Also.. if you boot up to the retail kernel, do you get an error? Or does it boot fine?

I tried new IDE cables and yes the retail kernal boots fine. and so does the M8.
perhaps Im a bit confused. let me clear something up. Can I FTP from the Chip once it is on without a bios flashed?
I turn on the xbox and the xenium menu comes up at this point the very first screen are we able to FTP?

or does the chip need 3rd party bios to do the FTPing (like EVOV M8)?

The reason I am asking is gain i can FTP fine once i have a well configured dash. but lead to this problem was that I could not see any file folder when trying to install a bios(like in the tut).

for me wheni connect to the FTP with the OS all i see is the drives
but nothing in them but once i flashed the m8 and conntedt to it with evo-x it worked fine

At lease you  are facing half the issue I am
at leaset you can see the folders with just the OS.
I cant even do that. Which make it difficult to change skins and to load bios from HDD or any that has to do with the HDD(beside unlock/lock).

Well, if you can boot the xbox fine, etc.. then something is weird .. Try updating to the latest version of XOS.

This may sound weird, but it happened to me before too, just try booting it with eject instead of power, see if that works, it did for me.

I think the XOS is buggy. I just flashed a bois for the 'H' folder. so now i can see the 'D' and 'H' folder ONLY .
 at least Im progressing LOL.

When you dl the os, make sure you use the hdd version and make the iso yourself, the iso they upload is corrupt, I can't even mount it, burn it, or extract it.  Just get the hdd version, make a new iso9660 compilation, drag a big dummy file then the bin file and burn it.  Try that.

I used the 2nd half which deals with CDRW (But I made mine DVD since my thompson cant read CDRW).
Is this the same thing you are suggestion?
