Fried Xenium Chip After Eeprom Backup Attempt
« on: April 15, 2005, 04:01:00 PM »

Having installed a xenium spice with evox bios everything worked as expected! I then tried to backup the eeprom as suggested using the xenium os backup facility but this seemed to crash and just had a "backing up eeprom" type message on the screen and all LEDs on the chip went red. This did not go after an hour so I rebooted the box...possibly a bad idea!
Now when I reboot, no xeniumos appears and it boots straight to msdash. No matter what I try, the chip does not respond.

Anybody got any ideas what I could try??

cheers <

Ensure that your solderless adapter is still aligned and that your d0 (or lframe) wire in in place. If so, try flipping the small black recovery switch on the chip and booting. BTW, what version xbox is this? <

It's a 1.6.

All the wires appear fine...and all LEDs light up on power-up...just the chip does not light up.

I'll have a go at booting with the switch flipped <

with the switch flipped, the xbox does nothing although the xenium chip is now lit red on its LED. <
