Xenium Ice Harddrive Troubles
« on: April 15, 2005, 02:44:00 AM »

I just installed a solderless Xenium ICE in my friend's xbox and I'm having some strange issues with the new harddrive.  I tried the drive upgrade wizard and it failed for some reason, so I put in Slayer's to get it all set up.  Now, it's reporting my f drive is only 25gb in xbmc, unleashx, evox, etc.  I don't know what the deal is.  I've tried both the M8 and X2 4981.06 bios to no avail (yes, I have lba support).  I've also tried reformatting using the Xenium OS, but the problem is still not fixed.

Could the drive be broken?  I noticed one of the pins for the ide ribbon looked smaller than the others...

Am I doing something wrong? <

I'm pretty sure it's a 1.0, but it might be 1.1, I don't remember off hand <

Sounds like someone formatted the HDD for a 67 bios.. reformat F: and you should be good to go. <

I've reformatted F using the Xenium OS and with Slayer's, but it always says 25gb as the size for f. <

Are you sure you do not have the jumper positions backwards? Some drives will force a 32gig size when jumpers are set a certain way. <
