I partially agree with Sinista, and i'll try to keep the criticism constructive. The logo's look good, but they do not have a sense of professionalism that most nice looking websites have. The logos are simple and lack certian smoothness to them, without extensive/detailed items in the logo.

I like the straight Surreal (normal) in the Nintendo logo style.
However, I can't help but wonder what it would look like more in the Nintendo 64 style (as opposed to Nintendo Entertainment System) ?
Like that 3-d looking N with Nintendo 64 underneath. But maybe a 3-d S with Surreal 64 ? (the version i don't think is an integral part of the logo).

What do you think?

QUOTE (Sinista @ Jun 23 2004, 09:17 PM)
Asher, it's basically a good idea, but I highly doubt that you are a "graphic designer" as you claim to be. Based on what I've seen, I don't think that you are too familliar with Illustrator, you are trying to make the "Nintendo Border" out of circles and lines or rectangles or something, and frankly it looks very pieced together and unprofessional. You should use the "Rounded Rectangle tool" it will give it a very clean, one pice look that the real Nintendo logo has.

-------------------------

This is stright from the Illustrator manual:

To adjust corners of a rounded rectangle as you draw:

-Select the Rounded Rectangle tool.
-Position the pointer where you want the rectangle to begin, and start dragging diagonally until the rectangle is the size you want.
-You can press any of the following to get specific results as you drag:

The Up Arrow key or Down Arrow key to change the corner radius. When the corners are the desired roundness, release the key.
The Left Arrow key to change to the minimum radius (most angular corners).
The Right Arrow key to change to the maximum radius (most rounded corners).

----------------------------

I have used this many times to make perfect Nintendo logos.
Sorry if I sound like a jag, I'm just trying to help!
Keep up the good work!

I was thinking the same before I read the post too. Same with Iriez's post.
A graphics designer or just someone who has fun in Photoshop? Because the images are rough and ragged and just pasted from other logo's. And the 'V2' looks like it's been done in MS Paint. Even the Rare 'R' is jagged, it's just a simple letter with a little shine and gradient, if you were a graphic designer doing these from scratch would take 10 seconds. I am not attacking because I appreciate the effort and think the idea's are there but when you make statements about being a graphic designer and then posts saying the logo is coming on this date etc, then expect some sort of criticism.
